אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁמִּצְוָתָן לְלָבְשָׁן כָּל הַיּוֹם, בְּשָׁעַת תְּפִלָּה יָתֵר מִן הַכֹּל אָמְרוּ חֲכָמִים, כָּל הַקּוֹרֶא קִרְיַת שְׁמַע בְּלֹא תְּפִלִּין, כְּאִלּוּ מֵעִיד עֵדוּת שֶׁקֶר בְּעַצְמוֹ; וְכָל שְׁאֵינוּ מַנִּיחַ תְּפִלִּין, עוֹבֵר בִּשְׁמוֹנֶה עֲשֵׂה--שֶׁהֲרֵי בְּאַרְבַּע הַפָּרָשִׁיּוֹת צִוָּה עַל תְּפִלִּין שֶׁלָּרֹאשׁ, וְעַל תְּפִלִּין שֶׁלַּיָּד. וְכָל הָרָגִיל בַּתְּפִלִּין--מַאֲרִיךְ יָמִים, שֶׁנֶּאֱמָר "אֲדֹנָי, עֲלֵיהֶם יִחְיוּ" (ישעיהו לח,טז)
